Tips for Gaijins
This would’ve been a helpful resource prior to my trip to Japan.
They’re doing renovations and it stinks.
There were some complaints that the floors were slick outside the student apartments, so AIU got on top of things and are doing renovations to make the walkways less deadly for their students. I appreciate their concern, but I don’t appreciate how stinky the chemicals are. But it’s okay. I just haven’t posted on my travel blog in awhile, and I thought I should let you guys now that my air deodorizer cannot even mask the smell. But apparently it’s “organic” - at least, that’s what they said in the email apologizing for the inconvenience. I assume that means it’s safe to breathe.
I have some photos I could post, but it’s dinner time. And when I’m not following AIU’s strict mealtime regimen, I’m practicing for the iaido exam that’s in less than three weeks, or working on the numerous projects and presentations I have due at he end of November and December, and I’m hoping I can get back into the habit of writing now that my anxiety might be nearing a calming point. Might be. Hope it is.
(I should also note that I don’t play video games anymore. But even if I did, that wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, since I spent the majority of my time gaming last semester and got on the Dean’s List for the first time. So… Gaming = Happy me = Awesome grades?)
Okay, I miss some things from America.
